Air Force general says Pueblo rescue attempt was too late
Washington reports Air Force Lt. Gen. Seth J. McKee testified that fighter jets were sent from Okinawa to aid the Pueblo after North Korea captured the ship, but the Pueblo was in Wonsan harbor by the time they reached the area. McKee said pilots began taking off at 4 p.m. local time, with orders to attack if possible, yet navigation delays and no Navy alert requests delayed response.
