Bill would extend US 200 mile fishery zone to revive stocks
Sen. Warren Magnuson said a Senate measure to extend US fisheries jurisdiction to 200 miles could revive depleted stocks and curb foreign fishing pirates. The compromise plan, approved by a House Senate conference, would require foreign vessels to obtain US permits by March 1 1977 and negotiate with other nations on fishery management while eight regional councils would be created. Enforcement begins March 1 1977, and the measure faces possible international backlash at the Law of the Sea talks in New York.

Princess Margaret's Marriage Strain Linked to Companions
Princess Margaret's marriage to Earl of Snowdon is described as strained with friends citing her close friendship with Roddy Llewellyn, a 25 year old and member of the jet set, and her bohemian lifestyle. Queen Elizabeth weighs constitutional issues as separation or divorce seems possible. The couple reportedly planned separate lives for their children Viscount Linley and Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones, while Princess Margaret previously rejected a divorce-eligible match with Peter Townsend.
