Conservation district prepares for soil survey
Bennington County Natural Resource Conservation District leaders spent a long day in Montpelier and Bennington finalizing plans for a spring soil survey for Bennington town. They set April 14 for the District Extension Service annual meeting at the Avalanche Motor Inn in Manchester with Duncan Campbell as main speaker. They completed the 1974 annual report and selected the Outstanding Conservationist recipient, to be announced at the next meeting. They also voted to again offer wildlife shrubs Autumn Olive and Bittersweet, not a money making program, to help cover wildlife fields.

Zephyr wind dynamo touted as high output, low maintenance
Willard Gillette, 29, and partner Alan Lishness unveiled the Zephyr Wind Dynamo at Brunswick Maine claiming a 7.5 kilowatt output in 28 mph winds. The direct drive generator has no gears, weighs 185 pounds, uses 17 foot blades, and sells for 2687 dollars with plans to expand production.

Farm bureau to start Membership drive
