Two New England Homes Among Nation's Top 20 Designed
Two New England houses rate among 20 best contemporary architect designed homes of 1964. The Wayland Massachusetts residence designed by Ulrich Franzen joins Westport Connecticut's design by William Berkes. California solos account for four of the picks with others spread across the East South and Midwest.

Termites Trigger Dormitory Demonstration at Shepherd College
A last minute campus demonstration at Shepherd College was called off after about 75 freshmen and dorm residents in Miller Hall reached an agreement with freshmen dean Molly Borwick. Borwick assured the students the termites in their dorm would be exterminated, ending the protest. Architectural Record will feature Record Houses of 1964 with 20 architects in 15 states and the District of Columbia, highlighting design trends and builder–architect collaboration.
