Traits of Pre Adolescence Discussed in Arlington
Arlington parents and teachers heard Miss Margaret Hanifin of the United Counseling Service of Bennington County outline the normal development of pre adolescents ages 10 to 14 at Arlington Memorial High School. She described 10 as a turning point, 11 as more troubled, 12 as a golden age of equilibrium, 13 as a period of worry and possible aggression, and 14 as energetic with increasing self awareness. She stressed that the order of stages matters more than exact ages and that cycles of calm and less calm follow each other. William Towne, AMHS principal, spoke on curriculums.
