CAP Notes Senior squadron seeks radio and rescue volunteers
The senior squadron invites interested personnel to attend meetings as a training program on radio procedures starts soon. More two way radios will come from Wing Headquarters and be deployed this spring. The unit has supported the last two search missions providing radio relays and mobilized for a ground rescue role. An Air Force authorization covers searches for military and civilian aircraft with an agency efficiency test planned across all state units. The squadron will supply radio teams and aircraft for the problem and plans field trips to military installations to improve search and rescue methods. Several New England units will be visited to compare rescue procedures. A CD CAP field problem is planned for spring, with a larger scale than the November event. Cadets will visit the U S Naval Submarine Base New London Conn toward late April, arrangements under way, with a Mystic Seaport visit planned simultaneously.
