Many Groups Oppose Gas Tax Hike in Vermont
In Montpelier the House Ways and Means Committee plan to raise the state gasoline tax from 6.5 to 7.5 cents per gallon faces strong opposition from the Vermont Truck and Bus Association the Vermont State Grange and the Vermont Highway Users Conference. The Truck and Bus Association says many truckers struggle already and urges rejection. The Grange warns of hardship for farmers who use much gasoline.
