Calm acceptance marks North Bennington school meeting
North Bennington voters approved all routine articles with no discussion and backed a 360 181 budget to raise 215 496 93 in taxes. John C Searey won a two year Prudential Committee term while Merritt Hewitt Jr. and other incumbents were reelected. The meeting endorsed the Design for Education plan, heard about space for up to 270 students, and thanked the Norshaft Lions Club for gym curtains. Safety concerns at village railroad crossings prompted calls for temporary signals.
