State police mass for Bennington County crackdown
Col. Baumann orders nine state police cruisers and ten troopers to patrol Bennington County this weekend to curb Vermont highway deaths. Fifteen cruisers total, with auxiliary troopers, will chase speeders check licenses and arrest drunken drivers. radar may be used to ticket five mph over. State wide plan aims to cover all 14 counties this summer. 61 traffic deaths so far this year, up from 37 last year.
