Brattleboro residents will enjoy a Friday and Saturday concert at the Chelsea House Folklore Center featuring Chris Smither and Scott Ardinger. Smither performs revival blues and contemporary folk with solo guitar, while Ardinger, a New Hampshire native now based in Chicago, accompanies on guitar.
Elfriede Abbe, noted Manchester artist, won the First Award for Sculpture at the Cape Cod Art Association exhibition in Barnstable, Mass. for Cod Head in bronze and hammered copper. The show runs from May 30 to June 17. Abbe also chairs the Southern Vermont Art Center's Art Committee and keeps a studio on Applewood Lane in Manchester Center.
Manchester hosts the Southern Vermont Artists spring members meeting June 19 at 2 30 pm in the Arkell Pavilion with a short agenda by Dr Ilsley S Zecher and announcements on summer activities. Weekend concerts start at 8 and 10 pm with $2 admission. Chris Madigan leads a contra dance Sunday June 20 at Chelsea House Folklore Center with novice dance instruction. George H Hamilton of Clark Art Institute will retire June 30, 1977, not 1976 as previously stated.

The Saratoga Performing Arts Center hosts a July film series at Filene Center on the Skidmore campus from July 1 to 12, leading to the New York City Ballet's July 14 opening.
