Medicare Conference At White House Sets Last Minute Checks
Health officials, physicians, and hospital administrators from across the country gathered at the White House at President Johnson's call for a one day conference on July 1 Medicare start up. The aim was to preempt last minute problems, including claims paperwork and scrutiny of bills under the optional Medicare plan. The Social Security Administration said physicians would file on a single page form or bill the patient, with private insurers determining reasonable charges.
