Bennington French Canadian families under study photos show culture shift
Linda Smith, a Bennington College senior, documents over 300 Franco Canadian families who settled here in the mid 1800s to work in woolen mills and woods. Her 49 photograph series at Park McCullough House traces daily life, language use, and fading ties to heritage as generations blend into the dominant culture.
