Unexplained Air Force Jet Crashes With 24 Aboard

An Air Force C135 jet returning from an unexplained mission with 24 aboard crashed near Palmyra Island in the Pacific. Rescue planes searched for survivors while officials refused to disclose the mission details or classify status. Nine-baby Australian birth shocks hospital world record

Australian socialite Mrs G D Brodrick gave birth to nine infants at Sydney Royal Hospital for Women. Two died in the night, two were stillborn Sunday, leaving four survivors. One boy and three girls remained alive with one girl in satisfactory condition and others fraught with concern. The babies, more than a month premature, were placed in incubators.
