Tax Compromise Clears Eyesore in Hoosick Falls
The Hoosick Falls Village Board approved a tax compromise to rid the village of the abandoned Rose Doran property on Munsell Street with unpaid taxes of 375.54. The property would be deeded to Mason Harrison and sold to him for 125.14 or one third of taxes due, to demolish the building at his expense. The board also heard a proposal from General Code Publication Corp to codify municipal ordinances with a 3500 price for 35 volumes, to be financed over three years if possible. A health department letter urged refusal of Dodge Industries chemical waste at the village landfill due to flammability. The board authorized a 3000 capital note for urban renewal work and noted diaper disposal issues at the sewer.
