History of BCHS Graduates Told at 1967 Commencement
The Bennington Catholic High School Class of 1967, 87 students, heard Fr. Richard Sullivan of the Holy Cross Fathers praise BCHS ten years of existence and its impact on faith and knowledge. Symbolic Finale as BCHS Closes on Noted Recession
Bennington Catholic High School concluded its 12 year existence with a symbolic graduation. Fr. Thaddeus Swertz distributed eight junior marshals symbolic tokens representing school history including a Missal saber textbook BCHS letter trophies and the gold seal. The 87 seniors wore gold tassels for the final time as the Alma Mater played.

Fire destroys Crooked Lake Hotel during GOP dinner
A Saturday blaze at the century-old Crooked Lake Hotel forced about 900 guests from the Rensselaer County Republican Committee dinner and gala for Charles A. Schoeneck to evacuate. Four fire companies fought the smoky fire, preventing loss in the dining area, with damage estimated in the thousands.
