Shopping Center Water Service Okayed by Board

Bennington water commissioners approved water service for a proposed shopping center on Vermont Route 67A, for sprinkler and general use. The decision deferred if a separate connection is needed for the sprinkler system, subject to the owner’s insurer. The board also granted Leon Boutin approval to connect his Knotty Pine Motel to the Globe Union water main, with crossing the highway required. Additional connections were approved for Lionel Beaudoin and plans to extend a six inch line to Bradford Mill for a sprinkler system. The reservoir will be drained and cleaned after three years, and repairs to Ryder Spring roof and replacement of the oldest trucks discussed. An exploratory study of Putnam deed of gift was tabled.
