Three Vermont Historians Win Federal Fellowships
David D. Warden of Danville, curator at the Vermont Historical Society, will study historic site restoration in Ohio and help plan exhibits for Ohio’s new Columbus museum. Vermont Historical Society director Charles Morrissey and University of Vermont archivist T D Seymour Bassett join a Nashville program on historical agency and museum publications June 11 to 16. Morrissey and Bassett, linked to local historical groups, will advance Vermont publications. Warden, a St Johnsbury Academy and Lyndon State College alumnus, hails from Barnet and Danville, with a thesis on Finances of Vermont Town Government 1760 1860.

The Vermont Truck and Bus Association and Burlington Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce announce the state truck roadeo on Saturday July 29 at the Burlington Airport Air Guard section. Guy E. Wilson says many drivers entered to win prizes and the chance to represent Vermont in Tulsa in September. Competition includes obstacle driving tests, a personal interview, and written safety exams. Public is invited with no admission charge. winners will receive trophies at a banquet at Marble Island Yacht Club in Colchester that evening.
