Memorial Masses Planned for Kennedy Death
In response to national mourning, St Francis de Sales Church will hold a 10 30 a m Memorial High Mass for Sen Robert F Kennedy and four sick country. Sacred Heart Church will offer a 10 a m Saturday Memorial Mass. Kennedy died early Thursday after being shot in Los Angeles. His funeral will be Saturday at 10 a m EDT and burial in Arlington National Cemetery. The lying in state drew huge crowds in New York with extended vigil by family and friends. Authorities tightened security at the United Nations amid threats against Arab nation delegates following Sirhan Sirhan’s arrest.

Viet Cong launched their bloodiest rocket offensive on Saigon, striking near the presidential palace. Strikers Clash With Police At Renault Plant West of Paris
More than 5,000 strikers aided by 200 left wing students attempted to storm the Renault plant at Flins, 25 miles west of Paris, but were repelled by police in masks using tear gas and clubs. About 2,000 officers cleared the square after barricades of bricks, stones, ball bearings and Molotov cocktails. A dozen strikers were injured and taken away. The battle came amid ongoing labor unrest as Gaullists and leftists prepared for a tense election fight.

Bomb scare prompts Hoosick Falls classes to evacuate
HOOSICK FALLS New York Pupils at Hoosick Falls Central School were out of class for nearly a half hour after a telephone bomb threat. State police and Bureau of Criminal Investigation officers, plus male teachers, checked the building and the Hoosick Fire Department stood by. Principal William Waterhouse declined to discuss the matter. Earlier this week Bennington area schools faced two similar scares causing suspensions or evacuations.
