200-Gallon Motel Well Yields 200 Gallons a Minute
A South Londonderry drillers crew hit a striking flow of about 200 gallons per minute at the Lilac Hill Motel site on U S 7 south of Bennington after penetrating 270 feet. Eric Carlson of Carlson and Lundin called it unmatchable in his 40 years in the field. Typical home flows run 3 gallons per minute and motels about 10. The team drilled through 70 feet overburden and 200 feet rock before striking the remarkable water yield. The report also notes relief efforts prompted by disaster events in Texas, Germany, and Cuba, supported by the Mother Church through its Relief Fund.
