Fire damages Walloomsac mill roof and ventilating chute

A fire at the Boxboard division of Columbia Corp in Walloomsac N Y caused considerable damage to the ventilating chute and a roof section. The North Hoosick Fire Department responded at 4 48 p m and stayed until 5 45 p m using hydrant and booster lines. sprinkle heads also helped control the blaze. Assistant chief Malcolm Brownell said roof and chute damage were extensive but no estimate was available.

Search Expands for Missing Richard Bentley in Sunderland Woods

In Sunderland and Manchester areas more than 250 people join the hunt for 79 year old Richard Bentley missing since Sunday noon. Volunteers include Hale Co employees, Arlington students, Hawley Furniture staff, and local residents aided by state police tracking and road searches through the Burning area. Bentley, who needs heart and asthma medicine, vanished while hunting ginseng with his son.
