Jeffords to Represent Vermont Dairymen at Hearing
Vermont dairymen will be represented by Attorney General James Jeffords at a federal court hearing in Albany Monday. Hundreds of dairy farmers, mainly from southwestern Vermont, were shifted from the Massachusetts milk market to a Connecticut market, withholding money from milk checks due to a differential. Jeffords will appear in person with a New York representative ready for further action if the court rules against Vermont interests.

Williams had already decided not to return to the school. The petition will be signed by students and parents, and presented to Catharine Corcoran, superintendent of the Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union, as the school year ends.
