Senator Norris Cotton Warns on Tax Loopholes
Senator Norris Cotton of New Hampshire says exemptions and skilled tax dodgers leave taxes paid on only 43 percent of personal income in the United States. He notes a 900 page Internal Revenue Code and that the average taxpayer struggles with forms before the April 15 deadline. He cites audits and three-year windows for inquiries as part of a dreary picture for ordinary filers.
