NLRB Sets Hearing on GU Unfair Labor Practices

The National Labor Relations Board has issued a complaint against Globe Union Inc. Bermingtion plant alleging unfair labor practices. A hearing is scheduled for July 7 at 10 a.m. at the Bennington County Courthouse before an NLRB trial examiner. The UAW AFL-CIO and Local 1371 allege bargaining failures and unilateral wage actions in early 1966. Globe Battery Division unit at the Bennington plant disputes the charges, calling them technical and trying to delay negotiations. Edward Ross, Globe Labour Relations head, says the investigation was mishandled and seeks reconsideration with the NLRB.

Spacewalk Eyed For Satellite Rendezvous

Space Center Houston reports Gemini 9 astronauts Thomas Stafford and Eugene Cernan racing toward a space rendezvous with a satellite shield hanging awkwardly quoted as like an angry alligator. Flight directors say Cernan may attempt a spacewalk Saturday to remove the shield and ensure the maneuver proceeds.

Dorset Resort Scheme Tangled by Court Case

Frederick W. Tetzlaff of Dorset filed a bill in Bennington County Court against Christopher Swezey Jr., George B. Breen, and Thomas Martin of Manchester. Dorset Associates Inc. aimed to develop Dorset Hollow with lands to be sold or leased for skiing and development, but investors failed to fund 2500 shares at $1 each and arbitration was avoided. The suit seeks to release Tetzlaff from Dorset Associates and remove any cloud on his land title. The defendants deny the charges.

U.S. Reaffirms Stand On Bombing Halt

The State Department reaffirmed willingness to stop bombing North Vietnam if Hanoi signals reciprocal moves. Hoff Pushes Plan for Vermont Regional Airports

Governor Philip Hoff urged Vermont Aeronautics Board chair Peter Val Preda to study a network of regional airports. He proposed fields no more than 20 to 40 miles apart capable of handling twin engine executive aircraft and urged increased state aid for capital improvements ahead of the 1967 legislature.
