Spoon River Anthology comes alive in Burr and Burton show
A Burr and Burton student production at the Southern Vermont Art Center presents Masters's Spoon River Anthology with music and dance. Four young women portray major female roles while Doug Harrigan Seth Cummings Trevor Vasey and others give strong male portraits. Smatresk directs with poised pacing and a mythic stage design, though the musical interludes feel static. The reviewer commends the ensemble for insight dignity and humor while noting the piece reflects on small town life and enduring American values.
