Fiddlers Contest outgrows Cradle of Craftsbury Common

About 20 000 people jammed into Craftsbury Common for the 13th Old Time Fiddlers Contest. The Horse and Buggy Club says the event is too large for its 20 members and will seek a new sponsor. About $33 000 was taken in this year with roughly $13 000 expected to remain after expenses. Vermont officials face a review of the Office of Budget and Management as $6.7 million in allocations reverted to the treasury last year and debate over keeping the office above partisan politics continues.
