Coolidge Foundation to mark 48th year since inauguration
The Calvin Coolidge Memorial Foundation will observe the 48th anniversary of Coolidge's homestead inauguration on August 1 at Union Christian Church in Plymouth Notch Vermont. A 11 a.m. service leads to a 11:45 a.m. business meeting and a talk on Tyson Furnace by Webster Van Buren Slack, a local history teacher and descendant of early settler Joel Slack. A picnic lunch follows at Wilder House, then an informal ground breaking for a new Coolidge memorial reception center and museum to be completed for Coolidge’s birth centennial in 1972.
