200th anniversary noted of Dorset conventions
Dorset marks the bicentennial of the First General Convention on the Grants held in 1776. Reports from Capt Heman Allen and Jonas Fay recount resolutions by Continental Congress and plans to form a separate district in the Green Mountains. Vermont’s republic origins are invoked with a Dorset gathering planned for October.
