Vermont youths build trails in Roaring Brook YCC program
The Roaring Brook Youth Conservation Corps in Vermont, now in its fourth year, offers 15 to 18 year olds a six week plus four week summer program to build bridges and repair campsites in Green Mountain National Forest. The federally funded effort, partnered with state programs at Stowe and Lake Willoughby, engages about 100 youths yearly and pays campers roughly 50 to 60 dollars weekly while combining field work with environmental education.
