Vermont May Borrow To Finish Interstate
Vermont Highway Commissioner Russell Holden said the state aims to finish 320 miles of interstate by 1970 but may borrow short term funds if federal aid runs short. The federal highway trust fund, designed to finish 41,000 miles by 1972, is discussed as Congress weighs extending the program or increasing funding. Holden advocates raising the fund to 50 billion dollars.
