Addison Names New GOP Chief
MIDDLEBURY The Addison County Republican Committee elected Mrs. Dorothy Purinton of Bristol as its new chairman, filling the post vacated by Arthur Gibb who resigned to run for a House seat in the newly formed District 15 covering Middlebury, Weybridge and Ripton. Gibb said campaigning in the larger districts would hinder duties as county chairman. Purinton, promoted from vice-chair, has long active in the party. State chairman Derick V. Webb praised the election and Gibb's trailblazing work in organizing district committees.
