Bennington selectmen opened two bids for a water line to the Bijur plant from County Street to Park Street and Kocher Drive. Morse Construction bid 52 506.25, Petricca 69 605, with Morse also bidding on a sewer line pushing total to about 82 000, 12 000 above the 70 000 authorization. Officials may seek Bijur help to cover costs and decide on a special town meeting for extra funds and land easements for flood control.

Vermont planners publish education and jobs goals
Central Planning Director Leonard Wilson released a 20 page draft outlining Vermont goals for education and economic development.
