Sunderland Selectmen Scored on Land Sale
Summer resident Edgar F. Borgatta of Madison, Wisconsin accuses Sunderland officials of letting land slip from the town tax rolls as it was set to be sold to the U.S. Government for a National Forest. The land, 35 to 40 acres between Borgatta’s two parcels, is now owned by Kenneth Hill, brother of Selectman Earle Hill. Borgatta says he offered to buy at the government price last summer and keep it taxed locally, calling the town actions reproachable in a harsh letter to the board.
