Vermont campgrounds set higher fees May 1968
Vermont's Forest and Parks Board voted to raise campground fees starting in May 1968. Tent or trailer sites will cost $1.50 per night, up from $1, with family minimum charges rising from $2 to $3. Picnic areas and beaches day-use fees stay at 25 cents, and $5 family season passes remain unchanged. The state owns 1,800 camp sites across 42 campgrounds, which yielded $375,000 last year.

The convention also delayed action on lowering the voting age to 18, with about 60 votes seen in the 186 delegate body and divisions between Republicans and Democrats.
