Manchester sewer project goes before public hearing
At a sparsely attended public hearing town officials and Jennison Engineering outlined a $2.5 million Manchester sewer project slated to begin in 1978. The plan replaces the village and town plants with a new Battenkill Lane facility, links to a siphon main on Union Street, and converts the old plant into a pumping station. State and federal sources cover 90 percent, with a local share around $300,000. Final engineering and funding decisions are due before early 1977, and a village meeting will gauge resident support.

North Adams State College received a 59000 grant via Program Impact to launch the first locally originated cable television facility in North Adams.
