Equalization rates slam Hoosick Falls district tax outlook
Hoosick Falls Central School Superintendent Philip Leonard calls new state equalization rates a bomb shell that will raise tax loads for Hoosick, Pittstown, Petersburg, Grafton and White Creek. Petersburg faces an especially steep jump, while state aid is recomputed and bus funding may add to totals. Leonard urges Petersburg residents to attend Albany hearings on July 15 to protest the rate change.
