Mansfield warns new action to end Senate seat dispute
Senate Democratic Leader Mike Mansfield warned Republicans to halt their talkathon over the New Hampshire election dispute or face new measures to end the 15 day deadlock. He said, in comments after a failed fifth cloture attempt, that the matter would be faced soon with actions that may not be agreed to by all senators. The exchange followed charges of cruel and inhuman punishment as Republicans urged endgame options including possible new elections or a full ballot recount.
