Federal judge denies Angela Davis petition
UPI reports U.S. District Court Judge Samuel Conti refused to take over the Angela Davis-Ruchell Magee case and denied Miss Davis the petition to arrest and try Gov Ronald Reagan for conspiracy. Davis and Magee were moved 15 miles across the Golden Gate Bridge for a two hour hearing before returning to Marin County jail. They face murder kidnapping and conspiracy charges in the Aug 7 1970 Marin County shootout that killed a judge and three others. Conti said a transfer to federal jurisdiction requires a state law conflict with federal civil rights law and warned that the statute cannot be used to abuse court processes.
