Girl Scout Leaders Plan Funds and Events in Vermont
Area Girl Scout leaders in the CataMount Neighborhood meet at North Bennington Baptist Church to discuss transportation costs from Vermont to Idaho for the international round-up, day camp resumption, Scout-O-Rama, and Girl Scout Week plans. Twenty Vermont council scouts, including Barbara Riley Betty Riley and Meridyth Whitman, were selected for Idaho. Each attending girl faces about 450 dollars in expenses, with the neighborhood earmarking 150 dollars per girl and seeking additional funds to cover the rest. The group will also raise funds among scouts and sponsors, while a day camp survey and a new day camp coordinator assist planning. The Scout-O-Rama is set for February 6 at the Bennington Armory with massed color guard and flags. Plans call for a March 9 Girl Scout Week program at Bennington Catholic High School and a large cookie sale February 19 to 27.
