New Catholic bishop installed today at rites in Burlington
The Most Rev John A Marsh III was installed as the seventh bishop of the Diocese of Burlington at a two hour ordination in the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception attended by Archbishops Humberto Medeiros John F Whealon and Paul Gregoire and 21 other bishops. The ceremony was broadcast live on television and radio and Marsh succeeds Bishop Robert F Joyce who retires at 75 after 14 years leading Vermont Catholics. Marsh, 43, is from Worcester Mass and previously led the North American College in Rome.
