Difficult and Touchy Subject In Vermont Legislature
The Vermont legislature enters its second week of the 1970 session with Governor’s environment and land use goals under scrutiny. Debates focus on reorganizing state government and the abortion bill H 199 with public hearings drawing large crowds and mixed views. Representative George Van Santvoord notes lively testimony, committee activity, and a lighter note about sleight of hand and a piggy back incident involving Orrin Beattie and colleagues.
