Dr King argues law aids integration not hearts
Civil rights leader Martin Luther King told a Harvard Radcliffe audience that legislation cannot by itself fix segregation, but strong laws help reduce it. He warned two myths hinder progress: time alone will solve problems and legislation cannot change a person’s heart. He said you can legislate segregation away and regulate habits, but you cannot legislate love.
