The United Counseling Service of Bennington County elected Dr James M Toolan as director of medical services effective January 1. Toolan, a psychoanalyst and former chief of adolescent services at Bellevue Hospital, will oversee medical supervision, work with executive director Joseph LoPiccolo, contribute to planning and research, and participate in UCS training. He holds degrees from St Peter's College and Cornell University Medical School and board certifications in psychiatry and child psychiatry. He serves as consultant psychiatrist to Bennington and Marlboro Colleges and is an assistant professor at University of Vermont Medical School. He maintains a private practice in Bennington.
