Track Formula Disputed as Vermont Faces Betting Revenue Split
The largest daily handle in the nation was set at 400000 per day with an 8 percent to the state and 10 percent to the track, split 50-50 on breakage. The Giuliani proposal failed, leaving lawmakers to craft a new formula or keep the current one which expires in December. O'Brien warned Green Mountain Park may cut dates without legislative approval, noting calls for a northern Vermont track and criticizing the commission’s focus on financing new tracks while Pow nal lacks backing. Tracks claimed 170 racing days last year to boost state revenue but posted a $25000 loss in the fall meet.
