Bennington Graded School District trustees approve a base salary increase to 4500 dollars and implement a Social Security benefits plan for teachers. The changes, effective July 1, require a 55 cent levy on the Grand List to fund both measures, with cost estimates edging higher than prior schedules.

She calls it not quite fair that Employment Security could not supply enough qualified people. The pari mutuel law requires 85 percent Vermont citizens while the track said 66 percent was the best reached due to a lack of qualified locals.
