Dartmouth College announces the 64th Winter Carnival to run February 8 to 10, celebrating the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney Productions with ice statuary of Mickey Mouse Snow White and other Disney characters. Patten sues North Adams Transcript for $2 million libel
North Adams land developer Harry S. Patten sues the North Adams Transcript and publishers James A. Hardman Jr. and Robert Hardman for $2 million over an editorial of Jan. 23, 1973. He claims the piece depicted him as a quick buck artist and harmed his reputation amid a Hancock subdivision dispute.
