PEARL HARBOR Hawaii AP Owners of the stricken ammunition ship SS Badger State said the vessel should be blown up and sunk in the Pacific. States Marine Lines and its underwriters agreed to abandonment and destruction based on Navy data. The ship was abandoned Dec 26 after munitions cargo breached and fires started. 25 crewmen are missing and presumed dead. MSTS consent to salvage plans was requested. naval officials may sink the ship if it cannot sink itself or remains a navigational risk.
