Vermont towns approved for flood insurance program
The National Flood Insurers Association says Ludlow village in Windsor County and Derby town in Orleans County are now eligible for low cost federal flood insurance. Municipalities must adopt local flood plain zoning to restrict development in flood prone areas, as standard policies don’t cover flood damage. About 11,000 people were treated last year for BB and pellet gun injuries, per the U S Consumer Product Safety Commission.
