Manchester Selectman Pushes Knowles System for Appraisal
Manchester officials discussed adopting the Knowles system at a Pre Town Meeting attended by about 150 residents. Selectman Ferdinand Bongartz urged voting for the state sponsored revaluation method to achieve fairer listings, noting costs of $12,000 to $15,000 over two years as a bargain. Town officials argued local reapprasing advantages and cautioned Congress or the legislature may be needed for broader changes.
