Two underground gasoline tanks at the Walter L Barber garage on North Bennington Road were unearthed Friday and a leak found in one tank. Replaced after 20 years in the ground, the tanks are linked to contaminants in Bennington Flats wells. Health Officer William H Fox and consultant Edson F White expect further tests as another tank at Davey Oil Co may be unearthed Monday to confirm a second leak.
