Origins Aims of Green Mt Patriots Outlined to Lions Club
Lawrence E. Harrington, chairman of the Green Mountain Patriots, described the group as non political and democratic in structure. He said its chief aim is to fight the Communist menace and promote religion, inviting broader membership and stressing informing the public on the ground level to counter communism. Harrington criticized colleges, discussed the Shaftsbury incident, and opposed the John Birch Society while noting no formal national affiliation for the Patriots.
